"Un chat est un chat. A spade is a spade."
This photographic series is rooted in the simple yet profound concept of showing things exactly as they are, in the place they exist. Nothing has been moved or altered. My intention is to capture objects and scenes from the same perspective as they appear when new, preserving their natural context. The locations may seem odd, even bizarre at times, but this strangeness arises from their authentic, unaltered state. It's about revealing the inherent, often overlooked peculiarity of things simply by letting them be.
What you see here is just a small example from a larger body of work. While this glimpse may seem minimal, it hints at the depth of the full series, where each image invites you to reconsider the ordinary in its unvarnished form.

-Urban Alphabet
It was important for me to exhibit this work back in the environment from which it had been taken. I wanted the images to create a dialogue with a wide audience and so decided to display these findings alphabetically on banners
The alphabet created the idea of storytelling where the narrative changed each week with a new letter being introduced. The project took 26 weeks in total and was shown in fourteen locations across the borough of Haringey, London, predominantly hung near parks, schools, playgrounds and bus stops.
Each week the banners were rotated until the full alphabet had been exhibited on each site.
