Crossing
Between 2013 and 2017, I photographed people in my neighbourhood crossing the road, capturing a simple, universal moment we all share. This act of crossing the road, though mundane, fascinates me because it represents a point where we are fully present, attuned to our environment. From this series, I created a site-specific installation by cutting out the silhouettes from the photographs. These shapes were then transformed into signs and placed at the very locations where the original images were taken. The idea was to act as a symbolic guardian angel, creating individual signs to protect and watch over the people in these fleeting moments of vulnerability and awareness.
